Online Shopify storefront designed and developed for Fabiana Pigna, a Venezuelan fashion designer based in Los Angeles.

The brand identity has been entirely renewed to reflect the studio’s quietly modern style, driven by minimalist typography and a neutral interface placing focus on photography.

Built for Shopify using Liquid, HTML, CSS, and Javascript, the new theme includes tailored features such as a hover state which displays a secondary image in the product gallery.

Other custom features include a tabular product information section as well as a color selector shown on the product detail page, all of which were designed for simple configuration through the Shopify CMS.

The new online storefront was designed to be responsive. Every detail was carefully considered in crafting the responsive behavior across desktop, tablet, and mobile devices for a seamless shopping experience.

The Journal was created to share the studio’s stories behind their craft—their inspirations and working process—featuring materials, artists, and more.

A global announcement feature, used as a free shipping notice in the example above, was added and can be configured to be shown only on specific pages.

Website for SoftBank Group, a Japanese multinational conglomerate focusing on investment management for companies operating in technology, energy, and financial sectors.

The challenge was to design an accessible, ADA-compliant interface that relayed the company’s mission statement, portfolio, and news. A strict typographic rigor with a concise hierarchy was created to organize this information.

The Latest page acts as a blog featuring the company’s news and updates. The article is displayed through a modal.

The brief of this project was to design a new family of credit, debit, and prepaid cards for PayPal, highlighting the brand’s friendly and accessible qualities.

Many options were explored for the new card faces, ranging from vector illustrations to abstract image-making, but the final solution was big, colorful, and simple: playfully enlarging the Mastercard and PayPal logos over a spectrum of bold colors.

This is a proposal for Cos-Rx, a global Korean skincare brand merging dermatology and cosmetics focusing on natural, high-quality products at an affordable price.

Targeted towards conscientious teens and young adults, the new Cos-Rx adopts a more sustainable design using recycled paper pulp and highlights unique ingredients such as snail mucin and galactomyces fungus.

Inspired by the organization of medical forms, the visual language showcases linework and typography in order to create a functional, modular graphic system to package different types of skincare products.

Website for Studio Mococo, a design and strategy studio based in the Bay Area building brands for a diverse range of clients.

The primary challenge was to showcase their portfolio in a unified manner. With the studio having such diverse work, it was important find a way to retain a central identity. The solution was to organize a dynamic, modular grid system with standardized typography to be utilized by each project page.

Inspired by Robert Irwin’s Miracle Mile, this multimedia installation simulates the download progress bar of a BitTorrent client, where digital files in decentralized peer-to-peer networks are exchanged in fragments stemming from multiple participants known as “peers.”

The intent is to raise a discussion regarding the sharing of and access to digital media and resources in this new age of information. Passersby can engage in the process of downloading a torrent file as a “peer” in order to generate a printed copy of The dotCommunist Manifesto (Eben Moglen, Columbia University). The installation senses and gradually brightens with the movement of all participants. When all lights are at max brightness, a signal is released to initiate the printing process.

Occidental is a contemporary take on the classic sans-serif typeface. Built for reliability and neutrality, the typeface optimizes the functional qualities of western typography. Occidental is designed in 4 weights: Light, Book, Medium, and Bold. The font is currently unreleased.

Occidental was featured in ArtCenter’s Dot Magazine as the publication’s primary typeface for the Spring and Fall 2021 issues.

Ascension is a condensed serif typeface inspired by the unique Japanese treatment of roman letterforms.

Scurvy is a typeface bespoke to the Peer-to-Peer (P2P) Installation project, reconstructing the traditional characteristics and gestures of blackletter script within a low-fidelity digital parameter, inspired by the mathematical logic of curves. Download it here for non-commercial use.
